DESCRIPTION

We are looking to hire an entry-level support position in our fourth line repair and overhaul facility in North York. The specific job duties of a shop gofer can vary depending on the company and the industry, but generally, they include tasks:  

Running errands: Delivering materials, tools, or equipment to different parts of the shop, as needed.

Assisting technicians: Providing support to technicians and machinists, including helping to set up and operate equipment, fetching tools or materials, and cleaning up the work area.

Cleaning and organizing: Keeping the shop clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing materials and tools.

Inventory management: Assisting with the tracking and management of inventory, including restocking supplies, checking in and labeling materials, and maintaining accurate records.

Data entry: Entering data into computer systems, including order tracking and timekeeping.

General maintenance: Performing general maintenance tasks, such as oiling and cleaning equipment, replacing light bulbs, and performing other routine tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

SHOP GOFER:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Attention to detail: Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

  • Physical ability: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, including technicians and supervisors, to ensure that projects are executed effectively.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

  • Initiative: Ability to take initiative, identify areas for improvement, and work independently with minimal supervision.
